Changing sheep

Well, things here on the farm are changing. After years of having Border Leicester sheep, we have gone to all Shetlands. We currently have two spring lambs and six aged ewes. It just so happened that our shearer knew some folks that were moving to Maine and couldn't take their sheep on such a long haul. So we acquired six eleven year old ewes and three pygmy goats. I love all the Shetlands. My little lambs love animal cookies. They come running when you rattle the bag. The aged ewes have been a little stand offish, but they are coming around. Three of them will come to me to get bites of apples. The goats of course made themselves right at home.
I can't wait to get to spin some of this wonderful fleece.
